I was very disappointed this French Open… I think I cried more than Roger Federer when he lost!

Not even my magical skills could save him against Robin Soderling! But, in all seriousness, Roger Federer lost, and there was nothing that anybody could do about it. This time, though, Roger was in one of the worst situations to lose: against somebody that he has beaten 12 times in a row… and in the quarterfinals. If Roger had lasted one more match and lost in the semi-finals, he would’ve been a straight Grand Slam semi-finalist for exactly 6 years in a row. That’s like eating the same thing for six years in a row… or listening to the same song for six years in a row. OK, those are bad examples, but you get the point: that would have been a big milestone for Roger.

But, the good thing is, it will take somebody FOREVER to beat the record Roger Federer has reached. It will take somebody exactly 6 years to even beat his record! Which would have to be somebody with a great potential… or somebody that’s not from this planet.

Roger said about his semi-final appearances, “They all come to an end at some stage–you hope they don’t, but they do. It was a great run.” He fooled around, saying,”…now I’ve got the quarter-final streak going, I guess.”

Robin Soderling advanced, eventually making it to the finals of Roland Garros for the second year in a row. His opponent wasn’t a stranger. Rafa Nadal, who lost to Soderling last year at Roland Garros, would play Soderling a second time in the finals. Some might call it revenge. But Nadal said that he wasn’t out to seek revenge on Soderling. Some might think otherwise.

The match wasn’t a hard one for Nadal. He either really wanted to get revenge on Soderling, or plainly was just playing very well. He beat Soderling 6-4, 6-2, 6-4 to get his 5th Roland Garros trophy.

Nadal seized the number one ranking from Roger Federer with this win. Brad Gilbert fought that Roger Federer would be the year-end number one. Darren Cahill thought Nadal would be. Who do you think is right?

Since I haven’t been on in FOREVER, I am going to finish up talking about the Australian Open. Because I’m just THAT awesome. This is our second snow day in a row, so I am PUMPED, yo!

Serena Williams vs. Justine Henin

Serena Williams: 6-4, 3-6, 6-2

So, as you have probably heard by now, or not… Serena Williams won the Australian Open against Justine Henin. When I first saw this match-up, I, and every other tennis fan in the world, was ready for a REAL match. Did you know that this match was the first time a women’s final has gone to three sets in, well, forever!?! The last final was in 2005! I was surprised when I heard this and went screaming it around the house… yeah. I was excited to have a real match, as you can tell!

I meant to post this a long time ago, so I am just going to give you the ending scores. Serena Williams won 6-4, 3-6, 6-2. Henin was on a roll the second set to the beginning of the third set, but couldn’t keep it up. Serena Williams picked up her game in fear of losing and ended up taking Justine Henin in a pretty easy third set. Henin won the first two games in the third set, and those were the last games she won in the championship. Serena Williams now has 11 Grand Slam singles titles.

The 21 year old, Marin Cilic, took out both del Potro and Roddick at this year’s Australian Open. Although he was defeated by Andy Murray in the semifinals, this kid has potential. He ousted del Potro in 5 sets: 5-7, 7-5, 6-4, 5-7, 6-3. Marin Cilic, from Croatia, won his first ATP match against del Potro. Both Cilic and del Potro are only five days apart, del Potro being the older. Also like del Potro, Cilic is a giant, towering over a lot of the players at 6’6″ (del Potro being the same height).

In the next round, Cilic took out Andy Roddick in the quarters in another five-set triumph. The score: 7-6 (4), 6-3, 3-6, 2-6, 6-3.

So, the bottom line is, watch out for this 21 year old Croat!

Yeah, so here is the translation: What is your name? How are you? Me, my name is Julia. I am very good! Or, I am so-so. See you soon! I have school!

Once upon a time… wait, no, that’s fairytale talk. Julia was a superhero (Much, much better) who needed her hair brushed for the superhero ponytail thingy. She didn’t know what to do! So she called her secret agent in and he told her that she should brush her hair! “Oh, that makes sense!” Julia exclaimed. “But what do I brush my hair with?” she questioned. Her super special secret agent handed her a weird looking thing.

“It’s called a hairbrush,” he said. “You use it to brush your hair.” Julia nodded with a smile on her face.

“I’ll be done in no time!” she exclaimed!

“Not so fast!” the super villain, Knots, shouted. “You have to get passed ME first!” Julia gasped. She looked around to see if there was anything that could help her. In fact, there was a handy dandy knot spray thingy sitting right in front of her! What a coincidence!

“THIS will defeat you and your evil power, Knots!” she exclaimed.

She put some in her hair and…

it worked!

Well, sort of…

After a few hours of brushing her hair, Julia finally exclaimed, “I’m almost almost done!” And when she was done, there was a bigger villain to tackle: The Ponytail Thingy.

“Maybe singing a song will help me,” Julia said.

“I’m brushing my hair without a care!” Julia sang into her weapon, the hairbrush.

Magically, her hair went up into a ponytail shape. So, she sang some more.

“Just this Suave thing, and nobody’s bothering!” she sang. A window may have broken, but her hair once again, magically started putting the ponytail around itself!

“Um… I will defeat the villain by just chillin’!” she thought quickly. And, just before her eyes, the ponytail went around her hair once more!

“Uh… my hair will be perfect and it will be worth it!” And, with that, Julia’s ponytail was complete!

“I’m done!!!” Julia exclaimed. “So, when is this superhero ponytail thing?” she questioned her super special secret agent.

“Oh, in about two and a half weeks,” he answered.

Short sleeves? In the winter??? With snow on the ground? Weird kid… But GUESS WHAT?!?! Today tennis starts again! So, therefore, I am wearing my Life is Good tennis shirt!!!! Hip hip, hooray!

Oh, and many of you have asked how I was doing after the teeth pullnation. (Well, not really, but it’s nice to pretend!) Here’s a picture of the holes in my mouth! You can see the bones in my gums!!!

I can’t show you the last tooth because it’s really hard to get to, if you know what I mean!! But, anyways, I have to go in the car in 12 minutes! And I still have to put my hair up in a ponytail, which I CAN’T DO AT ALL!! My mom always puts it up for me, and she went out shopping for things for my bathroom! (I’m getting a new one…) My next post shall be…. THE ADVENTURES OF JULIA AND THE NO-GOOD PONYTAIL THINGY.

1. You really wouldn’t guess it from here or my videos, but I’m a REALLY shy person!! In school I’m really quiet, and one year in ballet, I got an award for being the most quiet person there! They said that they never heard a peep out of me, even when they asked a question!

2. Science and social studies are my least favorite subjects (sorry to my teachers!!), but I am doing REALLY well in Social Studies! I have an A+!!! And in science I have an A.

3. The title for this post has a funny story behind it. Last night at dinner (my brother was at his “girlfriend’s”, tehe!! Sorry Jake! It is obvious! You’re ALWAYS at Winnie’s!) my dad told me he was going away to Germany and Davos in Switzerland (he does every year) and he said that my mom was going to bring in her husband and her other children while he was gone!! So, I responded, “Oh, I can’t wait to see Sally again!” He smacked me with his napkin…

4. Taylor Swift is my favorite singer. My favorite song by her is Our Song or Breathe.

5. My favorite tennis player is Roger Federer!!! (Bet you didn’t know that! Tehe…)

6. My nicknames are JJ, Jules, Jul, Julie (I HATE this one!), Julianna (Although this is not a nickname, it’s a full name. BUT it’s NOT my full name! My full name IS Julia, I assure you!). There’s actually a funny story behind the nickname Julianna! So last year I made up that I had so many brothers and sisters because my math teacher had us do this survey about people in our family. (something about the first three numbers that popped in their head from 1-2 or something… and I told my friend that I didn’t have 4 people in my family to ask… I only have 2 because my brother’s never home! And you know, I wouldn’t call him to ask him a question because that’s weird. He would most likely get annoyed… this is a really long parentheses… and now I will end it…) What was I saying again? I bet you forgot too, because I forgot!!! Oh yeah, and I made up names for everybody in my family! I had an older sister named Juliet and she was married to Romeo. She had twin boys named Jeremiah and Jeremy. Then Jake was a triplet with Jacob and Jakemire! And I had a twin named Julianna (To my comm arts teacher: SHE is the evil twin!!! hehe… I am just the innocent one that just happens to get in trouble every time SHE opens her mouth.) and a little sister named Julie who just HAPPENED to look EXACTLY the same as I did when I was five!!! Coincidence???

7. Last night for dinner I had the equivalent of 2 servings of mashed potatoes!!! Which, of course, was all I had for dinner! (Do you REMEMBER why? Need I explain MORE of that painful, painful memory that will forever hold a scar in my heart? Boy, I am DEEP today…)

8. Here is a picture of my brother and me when I was just born! It’s EXTREMELY rare because I took a screencap from a video of us!

My dad told my brother to make a funny face at me to see if I would laugh! And Jake said that he fed me sometimes, and my dad seemed so proud of him! He said, “You do, Jake? Wow!” He was SO cute when he was younger! Oh, and Jake, if you are reading this, it’s not like you’re not cute now, it’s just… oh never mind.

9. Here’s an awfully strange picture of me!!

It’s from a video and it was at the start of it! And then I just suddenly burst up and screamed into it… tehe, I secretly still do that!

10. I haven’t changed my white board since August… or was it September? hehe… That’s going to be a pain to erase!!!

11. My friend just called inviting me to her birthday! And she also said how sorry she was about my teeth getting pulled. That was nice of her.

12. I have to go take a shower now… blech. Oh, that reminds me!!! (Oh no, here we go again…) My dad last night he was listening to his radio thing and he said blech! He told us how he first pronounced it like ble-ch with the ch sound, when it’s supposed to sound like a k!! Hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe (Wow that’s a lot of fun!!!)
